Rescue Dogs - Bella and friend
The rewards of having a dog are many, giving as they do loyalty, devotion, fun, security, and companionship. Giving a rescue dog a home will give you all of that, but as a result of inappropriate treatment by the breeder or previous owners, potentially you may also be faced with behaviours which cause problems.

This is often not the fault of the dog, but is due to neglect, ignorance, inconsistency or even deliberate cruelty, on the part of the humans in the dogs' life. If you already have a rescue dog, or are thinking of giving a home to a rescue dog, you have the opportunity through the application of basic Dog Listening techniques, of successfully rehabilitating your dog.

Through a 1-1 consultation in your home I can help you understand the reasons behind your dogs' behaviour, and how you can gently and effectively deal with those behaviours. As with all consultations owners have the security and support offered by ongoing email and phone back up for as long as they feel they need it.

With rescue dogs being the focus of International Day Of The Dog in April 2008 there is no better time to stop your rescue dog, becoming a "yo yo" dog, and start the recovery process by booking a consultation!

Animal rescue and re-homing charity

ARRC: Animal rescue and re-homing charity
I volunteer one day a week at this local charity based in Stafford. The charity which has a no destruction policy (unless on health grounds) aims where possible to place animals in temporary foster homes which helps reduce the stress levels for the animal and means better socialisation and handling is possible. The organisation cares for a variety of animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, horses, rodents etc.

The workforce is made up of a group of volunteers who attend for varying amounts of time to care for the animals needs, vet prospective homes for the animals, fund raise, carry out book keeping, and publicise the work of the centre. At any time there may be a number of different animals looking for homes so if you are interested in having a rescue animal contact the person in charge Sharon Ransom on 07854280098 or arrc@btinternet.com

On 27th April 2008 to celebrate The International Day Of The Dog we are holding a sponsored walk behind Homebase on the Greyfriars industrial estate in Stafford starting at 1pm. You can either sponsor one of the volunteers or, turn up on the day and for a small donation accompany other dog lovers on the walk.
